I wondered that too but the problem with that theory is that it's too much. Why put 4kg up when a quarter of that would produce pretty well the same result? Especially as you're probably not going to see it again.

Which further begs the question, why would a young girl lug such a large and bulky amount of drugs around? I've always thought one of the keys to this whole travesty was the shear physical size and weight of the drugs. Next time your in a supermarket pick up 4 bags of sugar.

Like so much of this sad saga it just doesn't make sense.
Ever seen a terrorist do things by half?
Having a truckload of AQ money, and wanting to make SURE their victim was executed, of course they'd slip in a big bag of drugs.
These are the guys trained by trash bin, old gold robes hisself, he of the "Hey American People, remember me, I blew up NYC and killed 3000 people , don't want more of the same, then don't vote for Bush" [trash bin video before the last US election].
The American people then banged the drum of the war on terror, got out the Battle Hymn of The Republic, and all voted for Bush....rushed off to the polling booths, their "Cora Templeton Massingale" flaming torchlights of freedom in hand, singing:

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/b/h/bhymnotr.htm

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

Bush was re-elected.

cont'd:

And as our troops sailed off to war in Afghanistan and Iraq to fight for our country in the War on Terror, booming out over the radio in Sydney Australia was Toby Keith's song...The Angry American.

Written by Toby Keith.
(© Tokeco Tunes.)
From "Unleashed", © 2002, Dreamworks.

American girls and American guys, will always stand up and salute.
We'll always recognize, when we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our heads.

My daddy served in the army where he lost his right eye,
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me.
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love is fallin' under attack.
A mighty sucker-punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man, we lit up your world like the fourth of July.

Hey, Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly and it's gonna be hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell.
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you.
Ah, brought to you, courtesy of the red, white and blue.

Instrumental break.

Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage:
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage.
An' you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A.
'Cos we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way.

Oh, oh.
Of the red, white and blue.
Oh, hey, oh.
Of my Red, White and Blue.

White working class girls of ours, dressed in our army uniforms, with our flag on their sleeves, M16 guns in hand, are right now patrolling the streets of Iraq to protect us all from the likes of trash bin and Jemaah Islamyah. [whether we agree with the invasion of Iraq or not].

The university professor said that Schapelle is a white working class girl, and that she IS a symbol.

They are Schapelle's age.
The Indonesian judges sat demure, matronly dressed, respectful Schapelle on a chair and gave it to her, rage and an outrageous sentence.
Bad idea.
She is a symbol, as I posted in another thread here.
She's been in the pig sty for 3 years since.
Many people see it as an attack on our country.
Some people want/wanted to invade Indonesia and free her.

There she is, Schapelle, pictured on page 232 of My Story, behind the bars....short hair, still applying makeup to try to stay womanly in the stench of the pigsty jail...off to her day in court for her judicial review.
The chapter is titled "Twenty Years in Hell".

That's like a poster here who is now 50 being in there where Schapelle is until they're 70.
That's how long it is.
I posted that the Indonesian dentist who was doing illegal abortions, killed two women and was aborting 8 month old babies with scissors got TWO years, I'm sure.

There she is....little ballet Schapelle....grown up...on page 148 of My Story....going thru the gruelling routine of filling up the water buckets morning and afternoon.
Look at the swamp and clothesline area on the next page.....right at the back of the girls cellblock...bet that stinks to high heaven...imagine the mosquitoes.

No, I wouldn't let my little dogs anywhere near Hotel K.

Jemaah Islamyah are terrorists and not "Indonesia".

At the time that Schapelle was setup, it was common knowledge that the Bali Police were seeking funding from the DEA in the USA in their so called war on drugs. The chief of police at the time was Made Pastika. You can read all about him and how he operates here http://www.balibs.org Type in pastika in the search. My belief has been that it was one of his operations and he needed exposure, so one unlucky tourist from Australia was setup. It did not matter who it was but an unzipped boogie bag would have been an open invitation. Remember also that Australia is a participant in the war on drugs. Remember how the Bali9 were shopped by the AFP?

Good point.

War on drugs?
The poppies are still swaying in the breeze in Afghanistan...the next lot of heroin should be just about ready to flood Western streets....85% of the world's heroin coming from Afghanistan.
Maybe we should send over some bulldozers!

My thoughts are not swaying....neither are those of Americans....whether they're from the "Red States" [Republican] or "Blue States [Democrats].

In the crazy world today people are rushing back to their principles:....American posters wrote:

We are the red states.

We listen to talk shows and Fox News.
We tear up when we hear the national anthem.
We drive SUVS and fly business class.
We go through drive-thrus,have mortgages, and shop at Wal-Mart.
We attend BBQs, football games, fire hall meetings, and places of faith.
We believe life is precious and marriage is sacred.
We believe some things are worth dying for.
We have the utmost respect for those who are laying their lives on the line defending our freedom and protecting our streets.
We believe religion is not a philosophy but a way of life.
We raise our children as best we can.
We'll help anyone who really needs it,and not blame others for our own bad choices.
We read our Holy Books.
We pray because we know wisdom comes from God, not man.
We go about our lives quietly as we care for our families.
We might not have time to demonstrate, but we make time to vote.

We expect the values we teach our children to be respected in our schools.
We expect people to say what they mean and mean what they say.
We expect to work hard and earn just rewards for that labor.
We expect terrorists and those who harm the innocent to be punished.

We are farms, ranches, small businesses, and town squares.
We are BBQs, baseball games, fishing holes, and civic clubs.
We are little league games, piano recitals, Bible Studies, and car pools.
We are grandfathers in Iwo Jima, fathers in Vietnam, and sons and daughters in Iraq.
We are fly-over country.
We are the red states.

in reply.

We are the blue states.

We listen to NPR and read the newspapers.
We tear up when we hear the national anthem because we know precisely what rights this country was founded upon.
We drive normal-sized cars with sensible gas mileage and fly business class.
We go through drive-thrus, have mortgages, and shop at Trader Joe’s.
We attend BBQs, football games, fire hall meetings, and places of faith.
We believe life is precious and therefore know our first priority must be the millions of people dying of chronic illnesses right now.
We believe love should never face discrimination, no matter what gender, color, creed, age, or religion.
We believe in marriage for all, because Massachusetts’ divorce rate is the lowest in the nation.
We believe some things are worth dying for and many things are worth fighting for.
We have the utmost respect for those who are laying their lives on the line defending our freedom and protecting our streets.
We believe in freedom for religion as well as freedom from religion; we believe that religion should never be used as an instrument of control.
We raise our children as best we can.
We'll help anyone who really needs it, and not blame others for our own poor choices.
We read our Holy Books and our Constitution.
We pray because we know God gave humans the freedom to choose wisely for ourselves and we understand the gravity of that freedom.
We go about our lives quietly as we care for our families and those less fortunate than ourselves.
We might not always have time to demonstrate, but we make time to vote thoughtfully.

We expect the values we teach our children to be respected in our schools; we also expect our schools to teach our children proven facts, and not fiction.
We expect people to say what they mean and mean what they say; we also expect people to put thought and empathy into their words.
We expect to work hard and help those incapable of working as hard; we also care for our own and fight for our rights.
We expect all those who harm the innocent to be punished; we also expect liars and cheats to be punished no matter what their status in business or politics.

We are homeless shelters, arts centers, libraries, and universities.
We are local farmers markets, baseball games, fishing holes, and civic clubs.
We are debate teams, school plays, Bible Studies, and car pools.
We are backpackers, artists, journalists, professors, scientists, doctors, and blue-collar workers.
We are multiracial, multicultural, open-minded, and all-inclusive.
We are grandfathers in Iwo Jima, fathers in Vietnam, and sons and daughters in Afghanistan and Iraq; we do not want our children in Iran.
We are the last shreds of truly wild land.

We are the blue states.

COPY THAT ULURU...

Its common sense, corrupt country run by corrupt people.

The people who sit in those big wooden chairs in those dirty old stinkin hot courthouses who hand down sentences are part of the system that is corrupt, and being a part of that corrupt system involves making a decision in the best interest of the country.

Now my opinion is, that system is run by pretty dumb people with no common sense whatsoever.

Think about it, they give schapelle a 20 year sentence with a 100,000,000rupiah fine or whatever it was which equals AUD$20,000, now if they had half a brain they would have done what would have been defintely within the best interest of their country and hit her up for a $200k-$500k backhander, now that would have been for the best interest of their country.
Its probably costed the Corby's close to say $300-$400k since it all started anyway I would think.

They would have got the money and she would have been left to live her life....

I still feel sorry for her...as I know she looks as though its all been a bad dream...

In saying that I still think the bro and sis were a part of it as well,,, I must say Mercedes is not as good an actor as Schapelle though

But isn't it a coincidence he got the innocent tourist who just happened to be flanked by people who allegedly has had more contact with the substance in question than the majority of people in Australia, he picked his target well, must have done his homework huh?

Thats my thoughts at this point in time. And I think the desperation shown by SC is a result on her knowing how it got there but she was just a accessory.

What?

No one knew they were flying into bali with an overweight boogie board.

Schapelle has shown desperation because she is in a desperate situation.

This site is for supporters of Schapelle and her family. You cant support them if you think they are all part of it. More to the point you cant support them here.

The Corby's are all innocent, and seemingly don't feel like paying hundreds of thousands of dollars...their home, the lot, to corrupt judges and politicans?
What if they're making a stand against unfair treatment and injustice?
What if they feel like they've worked hard for their home and assets and aren't of the opinion that they should simply hand them over for a reduced sentence...there's no guarantee that Schapelle would've been freed....same as Michael Blanc the French guy....his mother had to pay ...only for a reduced sentence.
She refused....she's living in Bali....they have some years to go, but a transfer agreement will see him repatriated home.

http://www.ballarat.com/eurekastockade.htm

The Corbys are making a stand for their girl...who is one of us.
WHY should they have to pay corrupt people who are supposed to be our friends?

Obviously John Howard is not reciting the Oath very often.

"We swear by the Southern Cross to stand truly by each other and fight to defend our rights and liberties."

Howard should give the Corbys a refund of their costs and take it out of our aid money.

"Where the Bali hell are you?"

That would be ... safely tucked up in Australia...no death penalty...no cops doing random urine tests at clubs and parties, wanting to throw us in prison for a decade or more, fair trials, honest judges and a nice life.

Uluru, where the Bali hell have you been?

An Australian judge has recently sentenced a Lebanese man and a Chilean man to 21 years for coccaine smuggling.

What if they are innocent?
