.... is it just because Schapelle confirmed the bodyboard was hers?
I have been following the Schapelle Corby case from London, and wonder why people haven’t considered why both Schapelle and her brother werent slammered for eternity, or at least her brother wasn't retained for longer. As far as I am aware he was carrying the board up until customs officials enquired about the bag. After inspection when the stash was discovered both were detained in police cells overnight. Regarding the interogation that transpired that night, the police pretty much must have gained a crystal clear picture that Schapelle was guilty of attempting to paint Bali green. Suppose she is guilty and knew she was trafficking marijuana, she would have been between a rock and a hard place during initial interrogation, constructing her story and emotions to protect her truly innocent brother as well as protecting herself and not admitting to it directly. Firing squad or life in jail, most would do everything and anything to lie lie lie (I probably would), look at the Bali 9 they have absolutely nothing to work with besides eating each other alive. Suppose she wasn’t guilty, then her knowledge of marijuana being in her bodyboard bag would have been on par with her brothers. The only difference would have been her claim to the bag, however, both of them would have been as dumbfounded as each other, and I am sure they would have detained her brother for much longer to grill him if they believed her truly innocent. Something we have all learnt saying "I know nothing" when caught with a stash never washes, but it did for her brother. The Indo police let her brother go the next day, they must have had a very clear picture she knew it was there, Schapelle must have proved her guilt so to defend her brothers innocence, but not gone "tangible" enough to admit to it. If I were interrogating the two during the initial arrest, I would have used this tactic to uncover the truth swiftly, had I considered Schapelle to be not as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. In all honesty, I think she’s guilty, but based on the sheer size of the packet, no one could have been that stupid for it to be on course for Indo. Like most countrys, in Australia domestic checks are so rarely done. Still I feel for her so much, she’s a princess, who captured the hearts of most Australians, the media hyping it up, building her profile as an angel, a girl whose come from a place where the approach towards drugs seems much more lax. Do I blame her for not telling the truth? No. Her Life and her life is on the line, anybody would do anything, when the enormity of what youve got yourself into becomes apparent. I think the show reached a stage where even she believed the judge would find her not guilty based on the interest, outcry and disbelief of every Aussie back home, live and living in the courtroom via the cameramen. Maybe she came to believe she didnt do it owing to all the hype. Only now is the media exposing her family as less than perfect, because the media love a good story, even when it goes wrong. Not sure if you guys know of the case involving Michael Connell, a 19 year old British guy who has been given 99 years in Ze Bangkok Hilton for smuggling 3,400 pills into Thailand. This guy has learning disabilities, probably doesn’t come from the greatest family environment, and was so desperate to return to Thailand he become a dumb donkey. To me its sad, a 19 year old guy who was as guilty as sin, and as stupid and naive as hell gets 99 years for trafficking drugs, it doesn’t seem fair. But at the end of the day, something else "bigger" is going on here. With drug trafficking, innocent or not, any person "knicked" is more than likely going to go down forever. Unfortunately, what’s important here is not the guilt or innocence of those caught, but curbing the deaths and demise of hundreds who consume drugs. One person is a small sacrifice to make for many. In Asia, a trafficker who doesn’t pronounce his guilt, is considered trailor trash, whether they are guilty or not, because this little pawn in the big game of drugs is truly unimportant in the grand scheme of things, guilty or not. Not admitting guilt dilutes how bad a crime and punishment it is in the minds of the young vulnerable and stupid, so they might consider becoming donkeys when approached by some evil, disgusting drugs pusher who is never going to get caught. Governments want the world to learn, innocent or guilty, you get caught trafficking, no buts or ifs (just miracles!)……you are going down forever. Governments know donkeys are usually young, naive, broke stupid kids and theres a lot of those in society these days, how oh how do we stop them considering becoming couriers? It’s the same as those adverts for drink driving on TV, where you see a drunk ploughing into another car, everyones brains get splattered over the pavement. Society has to scare people not be couriers. Schapelle your case along with the Bali 9 will hopefully scare a few young, invincible, stupid, dumb ase and even innocent Aussies into being mules when pure evil approaches them .... THANK YOU! My heart is with you. |

At least the other thickheads around here like to keep it brief.
So firstly you have absolved Corby of not noticing the extra weight in the bag by virtue of the bag being carried by her brother. Then you make the great argument that no one would have been stupid enough to send the bag to Indonesia. Well using the phrase 'no one' excludes everyone including Corby. So you have basically proven Corby is innocent by virtue of those arguments. What does that say about you. Well unlike the normal idiots that generally come around here you get categorised in the premium section. As if you are not special enough then you make this final statement. Quote:
