NO WAY.... HOW COULD A FAMILY MEMBER BE SO CRUEL. IF THEY WERE SOMEHOW RESPONSIBLE TO LET SCHAPELLE TAKE THE RAP 4 THEM 20YRS IS A LONG TIME. I THINK NEARLY EVERY1 HAS TRIED DOPE AT LEAST ONCE IN THERE LIFETIME DOESNT MAKE YOU A DRUGGO OR A DEALER THATS WHY WE ALL FEEL FOR HER. SHE WAS IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME PLAIN N SIMPLE. IT COULD HAVE HAPPEND TO ANY 1 OF US. Interestingly it would seem 20% of the poll takers do think Schapelle's family was involved.

After what Jodi Powers did (in return for a huge amount of money and over some petty gripe with Mercedes) I'm sorry to say I'm not 100 percent certain that what happened to Schapelle couldn't have involved a 'friend'. Jodi was Mercedes friend of 14 years, yet what she did was so cruel and despicable that it beggars belief. These days when I speak to people who believe Schapelle is guilty (in most cases because of Jodi's claims), I remind them:

A) Schapelle was travelling in a group of four. Who is to say it wasn't one of the other three who put the drugs in her bag?

B) Even Jodi Powers admitted she had no idea whether Schapelle was guilty (with the exception of Paul Toohey in The Bulletin, the media barely reported this part of Powers' interview, which at the end of the day is surely the most crucial bit.)

Now I don't believe James, Katrina and Ally (or anyone else she knew) were responsible but I can't say I know it for a fact.

What I do know is that there is no proof Schapelle herself was responsible and is guilty; not even with many, many people itching to find proof of her guilt/involvement. That's no small accomplishment for the most famous convicted drug smuggler in Australia.

I mean if all the stories/rumours about 'the Corbys' were true, it's remarkable that not one druggie, busted for possession hasn't said to the cops, "Cut me some slack and I'll give up the Corbys and tell you everything there is to know about them ... "
As a cop said in The Bulletin, people give up their suppliers/dealers very quickly if they're busted with drugs. The Corbys must be "very, very smart or very, very innocent".

Interesting point/s made there Beesting...

... but after what Jodie did to Schapelle and Mercedes you could hardly call her a friend... I think she's an evil, conniving, twisted, bitch and perhaps she was always out for what she could get... or more of a "fair-weather" friend.

She was never a true friend... just a tag-along
