I'm from invercargill in new zealand (bottom of the south Is) and bought your book 3 days ago and just finished it now, and I'm not a book reader but really enjoyed it and could not put it down.
I lived in Bali for six months helping set up the AJ Hackett bungy site in Legian so I know how bloody corupt they are. I remember being **** scared of them on my motorbike as you always had to pay them so I wore my sunnys and didn't look at them and just hoped like hell they weren't coming after me when I drove past..anyway I think you are doing unbelieably well in the situation, that hotel K sounds just terrible I keep thinking to myself they must have to a bide by some sort of standards but they don't do they, I remember a guy being in there from home when I was living there he was a surfie from Dunedin but I was to scared to visit.
I believe that theres got to be something more done from Australia's end maybe that helicopter could come and pick you up after all and airlift you out. I think your sister is great as your parents, that Ron guy sounded like a ****wit.
What about using that chris currell's lawyer or maybe pay the judge or something. i honestly don't believe you will have to be there 20 years, oz needs to get off there arse and get some evidence for you.
Well I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and feel for you as I know that it stinks and its hot and it can only be worse in there with those junkies etc. If theres anything I can do please let me know, I would also like to be get informed as to whats happening is there a website which would be best to use?

Yes and failing that the government needs to exert a lot more moral pressure on Indonesia for more humane prison sentences for Australians. It's ridiculous at present. The Minister for Foreign Affairs Downer on Sep 6, 2006 didn't have a clue why the 4 extra Bali mules had received death sentences. And his office couldn't verify anything for hours until the ABC found out for him. That was pathetic.

Likewise the letter John Howard eventually wrote for Schapelle to table in court was way too little too late. Ellison has sent a wishy-washy letter too. Non-elected Mick Keelty refused to appear in her defence no big surprises there.

But we should be able to get more from the Indonesians, considering our closer security connections, and the amount of money and expertise we've invested. The war on drugs & the war on terror all cost money. And the Indonesian Govt want to make sure they keep getting that money too.

And the AFP and the Bali Police are way to cozy. Cozy enough not to care.

After Schapelle has served two-thirds of her sentence she should be able to receive what is called a 'Conditional Release'. For good behaviour.

So we are all expecting it to be less than the original 20 year sentence.
