In A Bottle
If I could bottle just your strength I could make a million people stronger than they'd ever been If I could reach them with what you have given me If I could bottle just your strength A million people stronger stronger ===============>>> My band, The Silver Tears, have a song on link below called "In A Bottle". Second song down. By 'band' I mean only 2 of us really in a studio. I am the singer and lyric writer. My music collaborator has no idea at all what this song is about. Your too kind Possum. TA. Glad you like it, but my music mate and I are going to extend it and add more sounds. It's a little too 'stripped back' at the moment.
:) Also, I may as well mention it here - another supporter and I are going to collaborate on a Corby song. He will handle the music and I the singing. His idea is a song with an up-tempo beat, with catchy rhyming lyrics that cover Schapelle's plight. We're having a little trouble getting the lyrics started - could use some help if anyone has some ideas. A poem that has rhyme could be turned into lyric for instance. But it can't be too somber - which is where we are getting stuck at the moment... So if anyone can help 2 intense dudes get some lyrics together - leave them in this thread. The song naturally is for no profit, won't be advertised, will just be on a couple forums, and the odd music site. ![]() |

We gave 'In A Bottle' another new mix. So this now is version 3. [I'm trying to keep up now myself]
Sounding fuller, a little less somber... http://www.mp3artistsonline.com/arti.../514/audio.php ![]() Last edited by Murray : 10-30-2006 at 01:58 PM. |

Unfortunately, restrictions on my computer (due to where I live) don't permit me to listen to the song. But the lyrics are fabulous! Do you plan on telling your partner any of the meaning behind them? I think it could actually work both ways....of course we think of Schapelle's spirit listening to it, but like Possum said, it also serves of a testimony of how our own spirits should be.

I'll tell him at some stage..... maybe. He had recorded it as a somber piece of music then handed it to me for lyrics and vox. As long as I attached meaningful lyrics to a track like that I knew he'd be happy with it. And I had been waiting for the right track to come along to do a song about Schapelle too.
Frankly the only time I raised the issue of Schapelle Corby with my music partner he didn't reply at all. And he really should have... I'll PM you why. Half of me therefore doesn't want to tell him, and it's a song for supporters only really, but the style etc won't suit all. -----> Dang! It's a shame you can't hear it mate. |

Whatever works out, I'm sure it's a great song.
Songwriting is an amazing talent, and I think it's fascinating how the music business works. I must admit I've thought of doing lyrics to a song about Schapelle, but they've never come together. I have some lyrics in the works for a song commemorating 9-11, but it's been 5 years in the making. :)

Yes hacia, writing lyrics about Schapelle's case is hard. I chose a personality aspect to write about. And it came easy.
But the collaboration song I'm working on about her case etc, swamped me. Knowing a bunch of facts is one thing, turning them into a lyrical timeline is another. Luckily my music Supporter mate emailed me back to say he has completed most of the lyrics. I'll just have to sing them. Phew. We all have limitations. And there is so much one could write, it's almost a case of what to leave out. |
