December 13, 2005 SCHAPELLE Corby's mother has asked for access to photographs of her daughter with an alleged marijuana smuggler. Rosleigh Rose told the Herald Sun she wanted to see if they were genuine. The Herald Sun revealed on Saturday that police in South Australia had seized photographs of Corby with a man who was recently charged with marijuana smuggling. He was the target of a joint SA-Queensland police operation into a marijuana smuggling ring allegedly operating between the two states. Ms Rose said she also wanted SA police to give her the name of the alleged dealer so she could establish whether her daughter knew him. "I was prepared to fly down to Adelaide on the first plane," she said. "But I have been told to write a letter requesting access and that's what I will be doing." Ms Rose said there were a lot of people obsessed with her daughter and it was possible somebody had created fake photographs of Schapelle in incriminating circumstances. She said two men from Adelaide, who didn't know Corby or her mother, had asked to pose for photographs with Corby in the Bali jail. But the Herald Sun has been told the photos seized by SA's drug and organised crime investigation branch were not set in a jail. Corby, 28, was charged in October last year with importing 4.1kg of marijuana into Bali in her bodyboard bag. She has appealed against her drug smuggling conviction and sentence, but the Balinese prosecution team plans to lodge a counter-appeal, claiming a recent Appeal Court decision to cut five years from Corby's sentence should be reversed and her 20-year-jail term reinstated. Prosecutor Wayan Sinaryati said she was keen to get copies of the photographs from Australian authorities. "It would strengthen our case because her punishment has been decreased and I hope these photos will convince the judges she is guilty," Ms Sinaryati said. She said no decision had been made on whether to approach Australian authorities for the photos. But Ms Sinaryati believed they would be useful in formulating the appeal and she would be suggesting that they begin the formal procedures to have them released to Indonesian authorities. Justice Minister Chris Ellison will have to decide whether to release the photographs, as well as details the Balinese prosecutors want about the background of the alleged drug dealer. Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty yesterday confirmed he had seen copies of the photos. But Mr Keelty said whether they would be released to Indonesian authorities was a matter for the Federal Government. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,17551570-2,00.html |

oh come on. seriously this site is here for the support of schapelle and if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all. we don't want to hear your rubbish.
and as for your view on it being 'ok for people to write racist comments inciting racial hatred' it is NOT. racism is not ok, in any form. also bigotry (you refer to the administrator as a faggot) is not accepted. grow up. |
