i guess i sound a bit extreme, it always amazes me how naive ppl really are to the evils of this world. The 'we should all be friends' approach is sweet but only works when the different parties have similar values. Do you really believe that only a handful of these ppl bay for the lives of australians? Australians deserve better, they have acted with great generosity to the ppl of the region and get treated quite often as the enemy. And i am not an australian by the way!!

Of course, i am the ghost of christmas past.

Timor, the tsunami, examples of australias kind assistance. Lets not forget the financial packages to prop up their midget economy. These packages amount to billions of dollars for no return at all. The least these ppl could have done was to allow corby to be tried in her own country.

Before posting this, I suggest you to read some books first. And see the UN Report. Australian didn't do as much as you said. Other countries did also. And none of them request like what you've said.
Have you ever learned about foreign policy.International Relations and stuffs. What Australia did is merely a kind of trying to get much more from the country given aid. Do you familiar with national ineterest issue.
Seems to be you really need more knowledge on it.

tom,em with you,mate.
wu, if so australian give the aid, i tell what ;there is no such a free lunch.read foreign policies of many countries.you'll know it.canada, the us,japan, germany, france, etc. it's common for a country to give donation or aid to other country. not merely based on humanity.consider politic and economic interest as well.
